The Arabic Poetry Diwan Hosts Creative Poets from Latin America

The Arabic Poetry Diwan hosts Colombian Poet Carlos Aguasaco and Mexican Poet Carlos Aguasaco, on Sunday, 3 February 2019. Their poetry will be discussed by Dr. Abeer Mohamed Abdel Hafez, Head of the Spanish Department at Cairo University, and the seminar will be moderated by Dr. Mohamed Moustafa Abu Shawareb, Supervisor of the Arabic Poetry Diwan.
The seminar will include poetry readings of Juan Armando’s works such as Desert of the Sea and Altar, as well as Carlos Aguasaco’s Interview with an Angel and Poems of New York’s Subway. These poems have all been translated into Arabic by Dr. Abeer Mohamed Abdel Hafez.
Dr. Mohamed Moustafa Abu Shawareb said that the aim of the Arabic Poetry Diwan is to learn about the creative experiences of writers from all over the world. He also added that this poetry reading is a great opportunity to know more about the works of Latin American writers, especially those translated into Arabic.
