A Memorandum of Understanding between the BA and the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences

Dr. Moustafa Elfeki: UNESCO has a special nature due to its connection with humanity, and we are pleased to renew our mutual cooperation
Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, signed a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Ghaith Fariz, Director of UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences and UNESCO Representative to Egypt. The event was attended by Dr. Nabil Al-Sharif, Executive Director of the Anna Lindh Foundation, Economist Dr. Sherif Delawar and Dr. Youssri Elgamal, Former Minister of Education.
Dr. Elfeki expressed his delight to receive the delegation of the UNESCO Bureau in Cairo, stressing the fact that UNESCO has a special nature due to its connection with humanity. He said that the UNESCO’s interest in Egypt is natural since it bears the spirit of the region and is considered the birthplace of religions, cultures and civilizations. He also added that Egypt hosted the first UNESCO bureau outside Paris.
Additionally, he asserted that the cooperation between the BA and UNESCO is not new, and that this memorandum emphasizes the strong relationship between the two entities.
