The BA engages with its public on YouTube

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina reaches out to the public via its official YouTube channel that contains many of its cultural and artistic output produced throughout the years, in an attempt to entertain the public who spend much of their time at home as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, said that this decision is in line with the global trend that encourages the access to cultural and artistic events using social media platforms, especially at these critical circumstances. He also added that the BA is a leading institution in the field of digitization, and has a huge repertoire of cultural and artistic output such as documentaries, concerts, conferences, as well as several other events which the public can access from Egypt or abroad. Moreover, he noted that the BA made available about 200,000 books online through the Digital Assets Repository (DAR).
