The BA Center for Strategic Studies organizes a roundtable discussion entitled “The Future of Public Policymaking in a Post-Covid-19 World” on Wednesday, 26 August 2020, at 1:00 pm.
The event will host Dr. Hala El-Kadi, Vice President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Dr. Gamal Abdel Gawad, Member of the Advisory Board of the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies, and Head of the Center’s Public Policy Unit, and Dr. Engy Mohamed Abdel Hamid, Lecturer in Political Sciences at the National Center for Social and Criminological Research.
The discussion will revolve around the current challenges faced by policymakers, particularly in Egypt, in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the pathways for drafting effective and flexible public policies that can respond to the fallout of the crisis. It will cover three main important points:
-
What are the approaches adopted by Egypt and the world to face the future consequences of the coronavirus crisis amidst the state of confusion and uncertainty?
-
What is the effect of the aforementioned point on the future of public policymaking in a post-Covid-19 world? And what will be the outcomes of these policies, and the methods of their evaluation and follow-up?
-
How can the goals of sustainable development and local developmental strategies be used as a starting point for developing policies capable of handling this crisis and its aftermath?
The discussion will be moderated by Ms. Riham Salah, Researcher at the BA Center for Strategic Studies, and will be broadcast live through the Center’s official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BAStratStudies/
