Head of the European Union Delegation in a Visit to the BA

Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, welcomed today Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt, and his wife Mrs. Marilena Berger.
Dr. Elfeki exchanged views with Ambassador Berger on several cultural issues, highlighting the fact that the latter is one of the leading experts in Middle Eastern Affairs, and that he and his wife are both fond of the Egyptian culture. They also discussed the possible channels of cooperation between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the European institutions.
Ambassador Berger expressed his delight at visiting the Library, the beacon of culture and knowledge in Alexandria and the world, noting that it was his first visit outside Cairo after assuming the position of Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt.
Dr. Elfeki granted Ambassador Berger a number of BA publications, including The Photographic Memory of Alexandria.
