The BA Manuscripts Center has published a book entitled Research into Legitimate Politics, written by a group of prominent Arab academics. It includes a foreword by Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, and an introduction by Dr. Shawki Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt.
The book comes as a contribution made by the BA towards the ongoing debate in the Arab communities regarding the relation between politics and religion, as well as the areas of consensus and difference between politics and Sharia law. The book also gives a comprehensive insight into the meaning of politics in Islam, the historical and political role in the rule of Islamic countries, and how the political view of power affects radical ideas.
In his forward, Dr. ElFeki said: “Studying science and exploring means to develop and harness it to the benefit of human beings is an important principle on which BA policies are based.”
In his introduction, Dr. Shawki Allam mentioned that the book comprises a collection of research papers on legitimate politics, written by remarkable scholars who are influential in the doctrinal and cultural movement in the Arab and Islamic world.
