Dr. Moustafa Elfeki Inaugurates “Egypt Is Changing” Conference at the BA

Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, along with Dr. Nevine El-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, and General Mohamed El-Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, inaugurated “Egypt Is Changing” Conference, organized by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on Wednesday, 10 March 2021, at 4:00 pm, in the BACC Small Theater.
Dr. Elfeki said that this conference offers a sincere national vision for building the future, and draws attention to the role of Egyptians in the process of reform and development. He added that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is actively contributing to the national scene, advocating a new era of nation-building in various fields and domains. Being aware of these endeavors, Egyptians feel that their country is on the right path of change and transformation.
Dr. Nevine El-Kabbaj, through a recorded message, praised the choice of the conference title, since it reflects the phase through which Egypt is currently going. She highlighted the projects conducted by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, including the Takafol w Karama Project (launched in 2015), which benefitted more than 3 million Egyptian families in 2020.
General Mohamed El-Sherif said that Alexandria has witnessed a period of extensive developmental progress over the past few years through a number of projects and initiatives, including the “Visual Identity” Project, proposed by President Sisi during the Youth Conference in 2015. He maintained that a protocol was drafted by academics from the German University in Cairo and Alexandria University, producing a catalogue on the visual identity of Alexandria.
Additionally, the conference tackled the recent projects carried out by the Egyptian state such as the Decent Life (Hayah Karima) Project, the Takaful w Karama Project, rural development projects (including those implemented in Upper Egypt), together with the country’s plan to combat poverty. It also included a discussion between intellectuals, academics, and members of parliament on the future of developmental endeavors and the enhancement of the quality of life in Egypt.
