The BA Director Receives the Ambassador of Cuba

Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina received H.E. Tania Aguiar Fernandez, the Ambassador of Cuba to Egypt.
The Cuban Ambassador emphasized the deep historic relations among Egypt, Cuba, and other Latin American countries, highlighting the fact that, throughout its history, Cuba had always supported the issues of the Arab region, particularly the Palestinian cause. She also pointed out that her first official visit was to Alexandria and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and that she was highly impressed with the Library’s innovative technology and distinctive output. Moreover, she discussed with Dr. Elfeki the possibilities of establishing cooperation projects between the Bibliotheca Alexandria and the National Library of Cuba, as she considers the BA one of the greatest and most important libraries in the world.
During the visit, Ambassador Fernandez presented Dr. Elfeki with a collection of books on Guevara. He, in turn, donated a number of BA publications to the Embassy of Cuba in Cairo.
