The BA Antiquities Museum, in cooperation with ADASA Club, organizes an exhibition entitled “Islamic Art Lens”, on Tuesday, 11 April 2023; 12:00 pm, at the BA Main Building, Antiquities Museum.
The exhibition showcases the shots that won the first places in the competition organized by Adasa Club to present the masterpieces and aesthetics of Islamic art throughout Egypt and the world. It aims at supporting the role of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Tourism Promotion Authority, and the efforts exerted to place Egypt at the forefront of touristic destinations. Moreover, it seeks to advance the concept of the photo-documentary and revive photographic prints. The exhibition also aims at propagating the winning shots, to be used in the promotional material of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Tourism Promotion Authority. This material will also be posted on social media, in order to reach the largest possible number of viewers.
The exhibition addresses the following themes:
- Islamic Architecture: interior and exterior photography of the most famous Islamic architectural facilities, highlighting the aesthetics of Islamic architecture and the exquisite decorations of these facilities.
- Archaeological and Heritage Collections: photographing the silent nature of the archaeological collections exhibited in Egyptian and international museums, or owned by individuals and private institutions.
- Documenting the celebration of the Holy month of Ramadan: portraying the daily life in the Arab and Islamic world, and reflecting the festive aspects of the holy month and the feast in the streets, as well as in public and private places.
