The BA Wins the Arab Council of Arab Archaeologists Award

The BA Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT) won the Arab Council of Arab Archaeologists Award for the year 1445 AH / 2023 AD, in the section on the use of information technology in documenting heritage and antiquities in the Arab world. The award was by presented by Sheikha Alyazia bint Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, for the project: "The Egyptian Archaeological Map... The Experience of Documenting Archaeological Sites Using Geographic Information Systems.” This project aims to provide a comprehensive and updated database of archaeological sites in Egypt in both Arabic and English.
The award reflects the BA’s constant keenness to innovate and develop in the field of heritage documentation using information technology, and to work on developing new projects that use technology to enhance the understanding of heritage and spread awareness of its geographical importance.
The BA will also be honored during the opening session of the twenty-sixth International Conference of the Arab Council of the General Union of Arab Archaeologists, which will be held from 11 to 12 November 2023 at the Union's headquarters.
