The Inauguration of a New Gift Shop at the BA

Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the BA, inaugurated yesterday, 15 January 2024, a new gift shop, accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Akl, Head of the Financial and Administrative Sector; Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Head of the Cultural Outreach Sector; Major General Khaled Said; Head of the Security Sector; Dr. Marwa Elwakil, Head of the Academic Research Sector; Ms. Dina Youssef, Head of the Library Sector; and Eng. Hesham Mortada, Head of the Engineering Sector, with the presence of BA heads of departments and officials.
Dr. Zayed stated that the opening of this gift shop comes as part of the Library's strategy for sustainable development and enhancing the use of artworks and archaeological reproductions to meet the touristic and economic needs and to help consolidate the Egyptian identity.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Akl said that the Library pays great attention to the development of its services and material resources. He also mentioned that the establishment of this gift shop near the exit corridor was taken into account, to be the meeting point for all visitors after the completion of their tour, noting that the shop will operate during the Library’s official working hours.
In addition, Dr. Mohamed Soliman pointed out that this gift shop - the sixth outlet for selling BA publications and gifts - is one of the most significant outlets as it specializes in selling BA souvenirs as well as reproductions of artworks of ancient civilizations (Roman, Pharaonic, etc.).
