The BA celebrates the Centenary of Chinese Cinema

Alexandria, 16 October 2005— The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center is hosting the celebration, entitled "The Centenary of Chinese Cinema: Two films from China, One film from Zaire", 23-25 October. Sunday, 23 October will witness screening of the film Life on a String, directed by Chen Kaige from China (1991). The following day Those Left Behind, directed by Hu Xue Yang from China (1992) will be shown. The final day will feature The King, the Cow and the Banana Tree directed by Mweze D. Ngangoura from Zaire (1994).
The event is accompanied by an exhibition “The Centenary of Chinese Cinema (1905-2005)”, displaying photos about Chinese films, and film’s characters. It continues till the end of October.
