Egyptian and German concerts during November

Alexandria, 7 November 2005—The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center is organizing a cultural and musical program for November. A number of musical concerts will be featured throughout the program, such as “Art and Myth in Ancient Greece”, presented in cooperation with Ecume Association on 13 November, and “Feeling” by Mahi Mahmoud and her musical ensemble, on the following day.
In collaboration with the Cervantes Institute in Cairo, the TOCAI Trio and Les Gitans du Nil will be performing on 21 November. On 23 November, the German rap band, Blumentopf, will be staged.
On the occasion of the Egyptian Cinema Day, a series of films directed by the eminent Egyptian director, Togo Mizrahi (1901-86) will be screened. The program also includes the Egyptian premiere of the Greek movie, Al-Lagi’a (1937), the premiere is organized in cooperation with the Greek Cultural Center; Al-Ezz Bahdala (1937); Layla Mumtira (1939); and Al-Bash Muqawil (1940).
The film shows will be accompanied by an exhibition at the Library entrance, displaying photos and documentaries about the director. The exhibition will be shown from 16 November through the end of the month.
