Dr. Serageldin lectures at the South Valley University

Alexandria 14 December, 2005— Dr. Serageldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, will be giving the South Valey University teaching staff and students, 2 lectures on Saturday the 17 December, 2005 in Qena.
The first will be on the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as a modern cultural and scientific institution. During which Dr. Serageldin will be presenting his vision of libraries in the future and their role in culture and thought.
The second will be tagged "The future of science and knowledge in the 21st century" during which Dr. Serageldin will communicate the amazing technological and scientific advancements particularly in the fields of Information Technology and Biotechnology.
Dr. Serageldin will also be giving the South Valley University a complete copy of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Publications in an effort to create bridges and a sense of cooperation between Egyptian Institutions.
It is important to take this opportunity to mention that the BA had previously requested the assistance of Dr. Mohamed Abdelsatar Othman an expert on Islamic artifacts at the South Valley University, on several projects in collaboration with the Calligraphy Center at the BA. The BA will also be publishing a book related to Fatimide Architecture in Egypt by researcher Farag Hessein who is currently preparing a PHD thesis at the South Valley University.
