The BA in an Arab Western Dialogue in Beirut

Alexandria, 28 December 2005— During the period from 15 to 20 November the BA participated in a cultural forum held by the Henrich Paul Association, in collaboration with Zawaya cultural magazine. The forum was held in Beirut and aimed at finding means of cooperation among activists in cultural media, reviewing the status of cultural media in the Eastern and Western World as a momentum to develop societies, and building bridges of understanding and cultural dialogue among the peoples of the world.
The forum was an opportunity for Arab intellectuals, media men, and experts to discuss issues of common interest on one hand, and to exchange experiences and point of views with the westerners. It is also important to note that many Arab, international, and European figures also participated in the event.
The forum is part of an exchange program organized by Germany, with the attendance of four Arab Journalists: Yassen Adnan, Moroccan Poet and Correspondent of El-Hayat Newspaper, Nagwan Darwich, Palestinian Journalist, Wessam Saada, Lebanese Journalist of El-Safeer, and Radwa Thabet, Library of Alexandria.
Included, were also several meetings and seminars allowing Arab Journalists to meet with senior media men. Through the program, participants visited German some newspapers and media centers in Berlin, Cologne, Leipzig, and Bonn. A delegation of four German journalists visited Ramallah, Alexandria, and Marrakech (Morocco) as part of the exchange program.
