Rose Al-Yousef: 80 Years in Press, an exhibition at the Bibliotheca Alexandrian (BA)

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, and Dr. Karam Gabr, Chair of the Board of Directors of Rose Al-Yousef Institution, will inaugurate an exhibition, entitled Rose Al-Yousef: 80 Years in Press on Friday, March 3, 2006, organized by the BA in recognition of the Rose Al-Yusuf endeavors in disseminating principles of reform and development in Egypt for 80 years.
Dr. Serageldin stated that the exhibition will include two sections: first section on Rose Al-Yousef and Sabah el-Kheir caricatures and the second section is related to Rose Al-Yousef views on economics, politics, sports, literature, social issues, and culture, in addition to a special section for portraits of Egyptian presidents, intellectuals, and artists, or individuals reflecting the nature of Egyptian people.
Dr. Serageldin added that the exhibition is held in the fringes of the Third Arab Reform Conference held at the BA from 1-3 March 2006. He stated that Rose Al-Yousef"s vision on political, social, and economic reform embodied in the magazine caricatures preceded all reform efforts exerted nowadays by civil societies. Rose Al-Yusuf and Sabah el-Kheir has a group of distinguished caricature artists including: Khwan Sentis (Spain), Alexander Sarokhan (Armenia), Ali Refky (Turkey), Abdel Moneim Rakha, Abdel Samee Abdullah, Zohdi El-Adawy, Salah Shahin, George Al-Bahgory, Abdel Aziz Tag, Ragai Wanis, Mohamed Hakem, Ahmed Toghan, Ahmed Ezz El-Arab, Kamal Mahmoud Al-Masry, Adel Al-Batrawy, and others.
