The Biennale is an amazing display of technical, aesthetic, and symbolic innovations. Because it is an international event, there are styles ranging from amazing realism and reductionism to minimalism and abstract art. This round is all about wood engraving techniques to introduce the general public to this authentic art printing technique. More than 127 artists from all over the world have participated with around 375 works of art. They have generously donated these artworks to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s permanent art collection.

The Catalogue of the Exhibition “Design is a Verb” held from 5 July to 4 August 2012, displaying the works of a number of designers from various fields such as architecture, industrial design, product design, fashion design and digital creations. The Project aims to introduce the Egyptian artistic community to Applied Arts, and bring the companies searching for new creative and innovative designs together with talented designers in order to enrich the Egyptian industry.

The year 2013 witnessed the organization of the 3rd round of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Biennale for Miniature Graphics, the events of which the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) had started in 2009. The BA was honored with the recognition the event received from a large number of connoisseurs of this art, further confirmed by the number of participation requests that the organizers received throughout the three rounds of the Biennale.

The Catalogue of the BA Fifth International Biennale for the Artist’s Book held from 3 to 28 May 2012. This special round celebrated the 10th anniversary of the BA, which was inaugurated in October 2002 and the establishment of the BA Arts Center. The event marked 10 years since the BA’s first event to honor the relationship between plastic and visual arts in relation to the concept of books, writing and documentation.
