Sixteen Countries Participate in the Sixth Alexandrina International Book Fair

Sixteen Arab and Foreign countries, in addition to more than 80 publishing houses will participate in Sixth Alexandrina International Book Fair, organized by the BA in cooperation with the Union of Egyptian Publishers during the period from 21 February to 5 March 2008.
Dr. Khaled Azab, Director of the BA Media Department, stated that Algeria, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Nigeria, Oman, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United kingdom, the United States of America, Ukraine, and Zambia will participate in the Fair held in Kouta Exhibition Area, and that Algeria will be the guest of honor.
He added that several cultural events will be held on the fringe lines of the Fair, especially as Alexandria was chosen the Capital of Islamic Culture for the year 2008, referring to the lecture that will be given by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Twaijri, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) on the inaugural session of the Fair entitled “From Dialogue among Cultures to Alliance of Civilizations: Future Vision”.
Dr. Azab also referred to the participation of several dignitaries and organizations in the Fair including Journalist Youssef Maati, Etlala Literary Forum, Alexandria University, General Egyptian Book Organization, Dar El-Sherouk, and the Lebanese Egyptian Publishing House.
