- The the four most common types of injuries were soft
tissue injuries (includes lacerations, abrasions, and contusions of the
soft tissue), fractures/dislocations, brain injuries, and foreign bodies.
- Persons who were hospitalized (yellow bar) suffered
multiple injuries more more often than persons treated and released in the
ED. They were more likely to have fractures/dislocation, brain injuries,
and foreign body injuries.
- Persons who died (purple bar) suffered significantly
more fractures/dislocations than persons who were hospitalized.
